MEET GILDER
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
"I come from a proud family that has been involved in public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. We need to create better living wage jobs, improve our schools, and public safety, gun control in particular, a top priority. With nearly a decade of community experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies, and get things done."
Malone's campaign is not just a bid for office-it's a grassroots movement fueled by decades of lived experience, unwavering community service, and an unbreakable commitment to the people. Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, a historic epicenter of civil rights, Malone comes from a proud family lineage of civic engagement and public service that spans generations. With nearly 30 years of service in Cleveland, she brings boots-on-the-ground knowledge and the compassion of someone who has lived and worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the very communities she aims to represent.
"I've never waited for permission to lead. I've always stood where I was needed-whether it was helping a neighbor navigate addiction recovery, empowering our youth, or holding local systems accountable."
"This campaign is about standing up for those whose voices have too often been left out of the conversation."
Gilder Malone holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University, dual associates in Electronic Engineering and Information Technology from Cuyahoga Community College. Most recently, she earned her Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2024, deepening her mission to empower others on the path to recovery and holistic well being.
She has selflessly volunteered with institutions like the Salvation Army, Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, and countless other local organizations-building, trust, fostering accountability, and always showing up for Cleveland's most vulnerable.

As the race for Ward 13 heats up, Malone's campaign is focused on three foundational pillars:
-
Community Development without Displacement
-
Equity in Education, Skilled-Trades Training and Employment, and Housing
-
Restorative Justice and Addiction Recovery Resources

Malone's message is simple but powerful.
"We don't have to wait to be heard. We can write ourselves in."
